Thank you Holly Rowe for publicizing what so few people understand about my own situation ... Why I worked during my treatment in 2014 and why I work now.
My favorite line "The doctor said to me the most important thing in fighting cancer is having a good attitude, so what can we keep you doing that will make you happy?"
For those lucky enough like Holly and I, the answer includes work. You would be amazed how many misunderstood people have connected with me about judging my own decision to work. Until you walk in our shoes, you can't understand what bring us to this decision. Cancer takes so much from you, and eliminating the things you love that make you happy is rarely the right answer. Cutting back and slowing down ... that's the balance I continue to seek. #cancer #workingwithcancer #mychoicenotyours
